Introducing the Mental Wellness Peer Support Symposium
Speech Academy Asia recently organized Singapore’s first-ever Mental Wellness Peer Support Symposium, a pioneering event designed to foster a culture of empathy, support, and leadership among youth. This symposium, a key highlight of our Mental Wellness Program, was created to empower students to become proactive peer supporters within their schools. During the event, participants engaged in hands-on workshops, role-playing exercises, and group discussions on key topics like conflict resolution, active listening, and emotional resilience.
The symposium also provided an opportunity for students to practice leadership skills in a supportive environment, guided by mental health professionals and experienced trainers. Mental Wellness Class
In our recent training sessions, we focused on Emotional Intelligence and Social Skills Development to empower our students. Through carefully designed social and emotional learning activities, we taught them how to recognize and manage their own emotions effectively. This foundation of self-awareness enables them to foster empathy, understand others’ perspectives, and build healthy, positive relationships. By enhancing these essential skills, we’re helping our students create a more compassionate and supportive school community.
Mental Wellness Programme
We introduced students to practical strategies for balancing schoolwork with personal time. They learned how to prioritize tasks, break down large assignments into manageable steps, and set realistic goals. Through engaging, hands-on activities, students practiced creating balanced schedules that include both study and relaxation time. We also shared simple techniques, such as deep breathing exercises and quick mental resets, to help them manage feelings of being overwhelmed and prevent burnout.
