Celebrating Growth, Confidence and Achievement: Appreciation Awards Ceremony 2025

On Saturday, 24 May 2025, the Shaw Foundation Alumni House was filled with laughter, applause, and heartfelt pride as families, educators, and students gathered for Speech Academy Asia’s 4th Annual Appreciation Awards Ceremony. The event was a moving celebration of the incredible progress and personal growth our students have made on their public speaking journeys.

This annual ceremony is a core tradition at Speech Academy Asia, recognising not just performance, but courage, perseverance, and the growing confidence of every child who has stood up, spoken up, and inspired others through their words.

A Day of Honour and Heart

The afternoon began with warm welcomes and a festive halal buffet as parents and students arrived in eager anticipation. The ceremony was hosted by our lively emcee, Joshua, who reminded us all that this occasion wasn’t just about awards. It was about celebrating every step our students have taken towards becoming confident speakers and future leaders.

We were honoured to have Professor Abhishek Bhati, Pro Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Newcastle Australia Institute of Higher Education, join us as our Guest-of-Honour, alongside our very own General Manager, Mr Zainuddin Kader. Their presence added a meaningful touch to the day’s proceedings as they personally presented awards to outstanding students from the Preschool, Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced categories.

Words That Inspire

In his address, Professor Bhati shared an uplifting message about the importance of recognition and celebration. He highlighted how acknowledging small wins, like giving an impromptu speech in class or receiving an award on stage, nurtures lifelong confidence, resilience, and motivation.

Mr Zainuddin also spoke passionately about the journey each student takes within the Academy, emphasising that true success isn’t measured solely by awards, but by the courage to stand up and speak out.

One by one, our students stepped onto the stage, greeted by proud smiles, loud cheers, and heartfelt applause. Each awardee was a beacon of growth and confidence.

Families beamed with pride, cameras clicked endlessly, and emotions ran high as we witnessed the transformation that happens when children are given the tools and space to thrive.
