Looking for September holiday activities in Singapore that are both enjoyable and enriching for your child?

The September school holidays are a good opportunity for children to step away from their usual routines and try something different. Beyond keeping children occupied, the right holiday activity can encourage them to communicate, collaborate, solve problems, explore new environments and gain confidence.

From leadership and public speaking to podcasting and outdoor cultural exploration, Speech Academy Asia offers a range of September holiday activities for children and teens in 2026. Each programme provides a different way for children to learn through hands-on experiences, interaction and practice.

What Makes a Good September Holiday Activity?

Holiday activities can be a valuable complement to what children learn in school. Instead of focusing only on academic learning, school breaks give children more room to explore practical skills and personal interests.

A meaningful September holiday activity can help children:

  • Express their thoughts and ideas more confidently

  • Communicate with different people

  • Develop teamwork and leadership skills

  • Practise presentation and public speaking

  • Build problem-solving abilities

  • Explore creative interests

  • Learn through real-world experiences

  • Make new friends and work with others

The best activity will depend on your child’s age, interests and learning goals. Some children may enjoy taking on leadership challenges, while others may prefer speaking on stage, creating content or exploring the outdoors.

September Holiday Activities at Speech Academy Asia

For the September 2026 school holidays, Speech Academy Asia has several programmes designed around communication, confidence, leadership and experiential learning.

1. Global Leadership Camp: Develop Leadership Skills Through Real-World Learning

For children and teens who enjoy challenges and want to develop their leadership abilities, the Global Leadership Camp offers two days of immersive learning.

Taking place on 7–8 September 2026, the programme is designed for children aged 10–16 and is an exclusive collaboration with Harvard Student Agencies.

Participants will learn from Ivy League-educated tutors while exploring practical areas including:

  • Leadership

  • Public speaking

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Teamwork

  • Problem-solving

  • Communication

  • Community engagement

The camp is designed to encourage participants to think independently, contribute ideas and work effectively with others.

Children will also receive a certificate of completion after the programme.

For parents looking for September holiday activities that go beyond entertainment, the Global Leadership Camp provides an opportunity for children to develop skills that can be useful at school, in future projects and in everyday situations.

Date: 7–8 September 2026
Age: 10–16 years old

2. Mic On! & My First Mic! Podcast Camp: Find Your Voice on the Mic

Does your child enjoy talking, sharing ideas or being in front of a microphone?

This September, Speech Academy Asia is introducing a 2-Day Podcast Camp, where children can explore communication through podcast-style sharing, hosting and interviews.

Taking place on 7–8 September 2026, the camp gives children opportunities to practise speaking in a fun, real-world setting while developing their confidence and communication skills.

There are two programme options based on age:

Mic On! Camp
Junior to Advanced, ages 6–16

My First Mic! Camp
Preschool, ages 3–5

Through activities inspired by podcasting and media, children can learn to organise their thoughts, express themselves clearly and communicate with an audience.

The programme is suitable for children who are new to public speaking as well as those who already enjoy speaking and want to take their skills further.

3. Speech Champions Public Speaking Camp: Practise Speaking with Confidence

For children who want a more focused public speaking experience, the Speech Champions Public Speaking Camp takes place on 9–10 September 2026 at JEM.

This two-day programme combines public speaking practice with interactive activities that encourage children to communicate, collaborate and present their ideas.

Activities include:

  • Ice-breakers and team-building

  • Leader speeches

  • Speech fundamentals

  • Body language games

  • Speech practice

  • Outdoor confidence activities

Children will also be introduced to techniques such as breathing, body language and visualisation to support effective communication.

Rather than simply learning about public speaking, participants have opportunities to put their skills into practice throughout the programme.

This makes it a suitable September holiday activity for children who want to become more comfortable speaking in front of others and expressing their ideas.

Date: 9–10 September 2026
Venue: Speech Academy Asia HQ @ JEM

4. Outdoor Learning Journey to Chinese Garden: Explore, Observe and Speak in Chinese

Not every holiday activity needs to take place indoors.

For children interested in Chinese language and culture, Speech Academy Asia is also organising an Outdoor Learning Journey to Chinese Garden on 9 September 2026.

Instead of learning solely in a classroom, children will explore the surroundings of Chinese Garden while observing elements of Chinese culture and nature.

The experience combines exploration with Chinese communication activities, giving participants opportunities to:

  • Explore Chinese Garden

  • Observe their surroundings

  • Learn about Chinese culture and nature

  • Share their observations in Chinese

  • Practise expressing ideas

  • Build confidence through short presentations

This is a different type of September holiday activity, combining outdoor exploration, cultural learning and Chinese oral communication.

Why Choose Skill-Based Holiday Activities?

Children spend much of their school year working within structured academic environments. The holidays can provide a chance to develop skills in a different way.

Communication, confidence, leadership and teamwork are not skills that can always be developed by reading about them. Children benefit from having opportunities to practise these skills in situations where they need to speak, collaborate, make decisions and respond to others.

That is why experiential September holiday activities can be particularly valuable.

A child hosting a mock interview, presenting an idea, working with teammates or sharing observations in Chinese is not simply completing an activity. They are practising how to communicate in situations that resemble real-world interactions.

These experiences can help children become more comfortable expressing themselves while discovering areas they genuinely enjoy.

Make the September School Holidays More Meaningful

The September school holidays do not have to be about choosing between learning and having fun.

The right September holiday activities can combine both, giving children opportunities to explore their interests while developing practical skills along the way.

Whether your child wants to develop leadership skills, step in front of a microphone, become a more confident speaker or explore Chinese culture outdoors, Speech Academy Asia has programmes designed to make the September break an opportunity for learning and growth.
