The Direct School Admission for secondary schools (DSA-Sec) allows Primary 6 students to gain early admission into secondary schools based on their talents, achievements, and potential—not just their PSLE scores (MOE).

1. Who Can Apply?

Eligibility for DSA-Sec

• Open to all Primary 6 students.
  
• Applicants should be able to demonstrate talent, potential, passion, and character through their school records and achievements.
• Children without prior experience can also apply, as schools will assess potential through interviews and other selection criteria.

Talent areas include (MOE):

• Sports and games
• Visual, literary and performing arts
• Debate and public speaking
• Science, mathematics and engineering
• Languages and humanities
• Uniformed groups
• Leadership

Examples of eligible achievements:

• Representing the school in a CCA
• Performing in a play, musical, or debate competition
• Excelling in subjects such as mathematics or creative writing
• Holding leadership roles in class or CCAs

💡 Note: PSLE scores are still important. Students admitted via DSA must meet the score requirements for the Posting Group offered by the school. Once admitted, students must commit to their chosen school for the duration of the programme (MOE).

Here’s an overview (MOE) based on this year’s application timeline. Even though applications for this year have closed, parents can start preparing early for next year or upcoming DSA cycles:

🔎 Explore School Choices

• Schools offer different talent areas and have their own selection processes.
• Visit school websites for updated information, generally available by late April.

7 May – 3 Jun 2025
📝 Apply Online via DSA-Sec Portal

• Submit your child’s application online by 3pm, 3 June 2025.
• If you cannot apply online, contact your child’s primary school.
• Parents unable to submit personally can appoint a proxy using the MOE Proxy Form.

27 Oct – 31 Oct 2025
📋 Select Preferred Schools

• Choose up to 3 schools in order of preference through the DSA-Sec Portal by 3pm, 31 October 2025.

Late November 2025
🎉 Receive School Allocation Results

• Allocation outcomes will be released alongside PSLE results.
• Prepare for the new school term.
