Speech Academy Asia runs public speaking programmes for MOE schools and tertiary institutions, from primary and secondary schools to junior colleges, ITE, polytechnics and universities. Our trainers come to your campus and teach students to present in class, speak at assemblies, handle oral examinations and interviews, and lead with confidence. Since 2012, we have trained more than 10,000 students and worked with over 300 MOE schools.
Every programme uses our own trademarked methods, Neuro Somatics™ and Speech Linguistic Patterns™ (SLP). We also organise Speak Up Kids, Singapore’s largest public speaking competition for MOE schools, which has run since 2016. What Will Students Learn?
Students build four core skills that they use straight away in class, in CCA and in exams:
- Classroom presentation: presenting to the class or school, project work discussions, debating basics and oral exam preparation.
- Interpersonal skills: listening, turn-taking and working in teams through structured group activities.
- Speech crafting: writing a speech with a clear structure, using suspense, metaphors, humour and simple statistics.
- Confidence development: managing nerves with breathing, posture and power poses, so students can stand up and speak even when they feel anxious.
How Does Our Method Work?
Most students know what to say. What stops them is nerves and not knowing how to structure their ideas. Our methods tackle both:
- Neuro Somatics™ links mind and body. Students learn slow breathing, upright posture and confident body language, which calm the stress response before and during a speech.
- Speech Linguistic Patterns™ (SLP) teaches the language techniques great speakers use, such as repetition, analogies and rhetorical questions.
- The B.E.S.T framework (Body language, Emotions, Sentence structure, Tonality) gives students four things to practise and teachers four things to assess.
- The I.P.A.D structure (Intrigue, Problem, Address, Delight) helps students organise any speech or show-and-tell in minutes.
Our programmes also build the social and emotional learning (SEL) competencies in MOE’s 21st Century Competencies framework: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship management and responsible decision-making.

We run public speaking workshops and enrichment programmes for MOE schools and tertiary institutions, from primary and secondary schools to junior colleges, ITE, polytechnics and universities. Which levels are the programmes for?
Our programmes run from Primary 1 through secondary school, junior college, ITE, polytechnic and university. Content is adjusted for each level, from show-and-tell confidence for young children to presentations, interviews and pitching for tertiary students.
Does the programme help with PSLE English Oral?
Yes. From PSLE 2025, English Oral is worth 40 marks, or 20% of the total English score. Our programmes build the confidence, clarity and structuring skills students need for Reading Aloud and Stimulus-Based Conversation.
Can the programme be customised to our school’s values or CCE themes?
Yes. Our trainers can use your school’s values, CCE themes or project topics as speech topics, so students practise speaking about things they are already learning.

Students will develop fundamental public speaking skills so that they may effectively present to their class or school. Other communication skills such as oral examination preparation, debating skills and team-based project work discussions will be covered.
Students will improve their social skills through meaningful activities, during which they will learn to form meaningful friendships with peers.
Students will learn how to write effective speeches using creative writing techniques such as proper structure and flow, suspense elements, logical reasoning, metaphors, humour and statistics.
Students’ confidence and self-esteem will be given a boost through the Neuro Somatics™ teaching methodology, a technique that strengthens the mind to face and overcome fears.
