What is Direct School Admission or DSA?
Hey hey, have you heard of the Direct School Admission (DSA) scheme in Singapore? It’s a super cool program that lets students score early admission to the secondary school or Junior College of their dreams based on their skills and accomplishments – all before they even take the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) or GCE ‘O’ Level Examination.
The DSA scheme started back in 2004 and was first rolled out to seven schools offering the Integrated Programme (IP). Since then, it’s expanded to include Niche Programme Schools – which are schools with awesome talent development programs and a history of major achievements in specific areas.
If you’re keen to apply your child for DSA, you’ll need to identify a talent development program that aligns with your unique strengths and apply directly to the school. The selection process varies between schools and areas, but if you’re successful, you’ll need to commit to developing your skills and talents at your allocated DSA school throughout your secondary or JC education. Who can apply
If your child is a Singaporean and a total rockstar in a particular field, you can apply for secondary schools and JCs through the Direct School Admission (DSA) scheme!
